About Us
Hi! We’re Kate, Danny & Falcon.
I’m a small-town girl from Pennsylvania with a love of exploring the Pacific Northwest, traveling, crafting, growing dahlias, and taking way too many photos. I grew up hiking along the Appalachian Trail and dreaming of one day living closer to the coast. I have a mild obsession with anything chocolate-peanut butter, a secret love for limoncello La Croix, and will drop anything to chase sunsets with my two favorite guys – my husband, Danny, and our sweet furball, Falcon.
Danny grew up in Southern California swimming in the Pacific Ocean and hiking in the Angeles Crest Forest. He has an addiction to potato chips and can’t eat a meal without some spicy condiment slathered on top. He loves a good outdoor excursion whether it be backpacking or camping in his truck, and while he’s known to overpack the “essentials”, he’s also known for forgetting his sleeping bag a time or two.
Falcon is a rescue from sunny San Diego. He’s a lover of all people, especially kids, and known best for his pointed ears and wispy crimpled ear hairs. He’s traveled and adventured up and down the West Coast and into Canada several times over, and while he might be a beach dog at heart, he has proudly hiked many PNW trails. At 14 years of age, he’s traded long trail days for shorter walks and truck camping all while remaining 100% spoiled and head honcho at home.
Seattle has been home for nearly 15 years and inspiring us with its beauty. Between rugged coastlines, shades of emerald greens, and magnificent mountain tops, we feel fortunate to live here and spend our free time getting lost between sea and summits.
Nature has been a part of both our lives since childhood, but our connection and appreciation of nature has profoundly evolved since 2014 when we experienced our first loss on the journey to starting a family. The outdoors has become a place of refuge and has seen us through our hardest peaks and deepest valleys over the last eight years of fertility challenges. While life certainly can be messy, we’ve found nature to provide beautiful examples in how to adapt, go with the flow, surrender, be resilient, and remain open to abundance all while guiding us on the journey of becoming our best selves.
Wildernest was dreamed up to capture the essence of the outdoors. Our products allow you to bring home or carry with you, that feeling of what nature means to you, wherever you go. All of our product images are our own and we strive to use our creative eye to produce photos and designs that are playful, brighten up a space, or add a unique pop to your style all while reminding you of nature’s vibes. At Wildernest, we understand that while life doesn’t always go as planned, the journey can take us to spectacular places within ourselves and outside our comfort zones.
